From 28 April to 1 May 2023, the 76th BuFaK took place in Leipzig. The conference, which takes place every semester at different locations in Germany, was held in the summer semester 2023 to mark the anniversary of the Council. It was founded 20 years ago, the last time Leipzig University was the organising departmental student representative committee. The Council has been rejuvenated once again and is continuing on its path of steadily professionalising and systematising its work. As in previous terms of office, the focus is on representing student interests in higher education policy at a national level.

We will also be attending the upcoming BuFaK in beautiful Oldenburg with a delegation of three students. We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone again and are already excited to see what awaits us. We were able to send a delegation of three students (Ferdinand, Philipp & Bianca) to the 74th BuFaK in Göttingen (05.05.2022-08.05.2022). It was a big premiere for our small departmental student representative committee and at the same time a chance to exchange experiences with the long-established and established departmental student representative committees. In addition to a tight schedule, long plenary discussions and countless workshops, evening events and leisure activities, we were able to gain many insights into student council work. At the BuFaK, we not only appreciated the "GO motions for an immediate vote", but also the productive exchange at any time of day, the vegetable broth for breakfast and the insights into nationwide university politics. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the head organisers and the countless helpers, it was a great honour for us to be a part of this conference. We are already looking forward to the next BuFaK in Oldenburg in November 2022.

The BundesFachschaftenKonferenz WirtschaftsWissenschaften (BuFaK WiWi) is the democratically legitimised representation of all students of economics and business administration faculties in Germany. We are the largest active association of around 800,000 students. Of these, around 250 delegates have been meeting (almost) every semester since 1977 to discuss and develop common positions and to network students who are involved on a voluntary basis throughout Germany.
