The document service of the Accessibility Services (ZAB) advises on accessibility and PDF/UA conformity for Microsoft Word documents and PDF documents. Our range of services:

How to obtain your PDF/UA-compliant PDF document
Submit your Word document for the creation of a PDF/UA-compliant PDF document. Please make sure beforehand that your Word document fulfils the requirements listed in the checklist for accessible Word documents.
Accessible Word documents and PDF/UA-compliant PDFs
An accessible Microsoft Word document is the basis for creating a PDF that is PDF/UA-compliant. Instructions for creating accessible Word documents can be found on the website of the Zentrale Anlaufstelle Barrierefrei. The accessibility checklist provides a quick overview. With the support of the instructions and checklist, an accessible Word document can be created from which a PDF/UA-compliant PDF is generated.
Prerequisite for the creation of a PDF/UA-compliant PDF
The document service only offers the creation of PDF/UA-compliant PDF documents based on submitted Word documents. The submitted Word documents are created according to the recommendations of the checklist for accessible Word documents. It is important that the final version of the Word document is submitted. Any changes to the original Word document require a new PDF/UA-compliant PDF document to be created.
