MA Linguistics

Our research focuses on the experimental investigation and psycholinguistic modeling of language acquisition, production and perception in diverse speaker groups (multilingual speakers, speakers who stutter, speakers with speech and language impairment).
language acquisition
cognitive processses that underlie language production and perception
multilingual learning and processing
what kinds of representations are stored in the mental lexicon
linguistic creativity
experimental semantics & pragmatics
language models that integrate data from neurodiverse speakers
read and interpret theoretical and experimental psycholinguistic studies
understand how we can tap into different processes using different experimental paradigms (e.g., reading studies vs. picture naming) and techniques (e.g., behavioural studies, eye-tracking, EEG, fMRI) and how to choose between them for your study
plan, design and conduct your own experimental psycholinguistic study
In this profile, you will be guided to develop the question you are most interested in.
You will learn the most cutting-edge methods to investigate your research questions and model your data with reasoned psycholinguistic theories and models. You will have the opportunity to make use of our wide range of advanced labs, equipment and technology, such as the neuroscientific methods EEG/ERPs, eyetracking, articulography, the speech and computer labs, computational modelling or a combination of these.
