Research

As part of the Quality Initiative for Teacher Education, the Philosophy Didactics department in Bielefeld conducts empirical-qualitative research, among other things. Focus areas include teacher professionalization research, research-based learning during the practical semester, theory-practice transfer, and educational and training processes for prospective philosophy teachers.

 

Current Projects

Biprofessional (July 2019 - Dec. 2023) - 2nd Funding Phase

The Federal Ministry funds the "Biprofessional" project as part of the joint Quality Initiative of the federal and state governments. Funding ID: 01JA1908, Total funding: €4,398,577.50. The following sub-measure is listed: How cross-phase research-based learning prevents subject-didactic deprofessionalization in philosophy teaching. TM6, Dr. Kinga Golus, Prof. Dr. Ralf Stoecker and Prof. Dr. Martin Heinrich [Funding amount: €147,567.00]

2017

Quality Fund for Digital Teaching (Bielefeld University - Center for Teaching and Learning) Project title: New Online Supplementary Seminar for the Philosophy Practical Semester [Funding amount: €3,600]

2016 - 2019

The Philosophy Didactics department at Bielefeld University successfully secured a research project funded under the joint Quality Initiative for Teacher Education by the federal and state governments. Project title: "'You shall not learn thoughts, but learn to think' - Professionalization in Teacher Education through Research-Based Learning on Reflection Processes in Philosophy Teaching." [Funding amount: €137,000, 1st project phase] This project is part of Cluster II "Research-Based Learning in the Practical Semester" within the "Bi-professional - Be Professional!" initiative and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research until 2019.
