The project’s goal is to collect, edit, and archive scientific software from the period between 1950 and 2010. Bielefeld University especially focuses on historical instrument, data‑analysis, and visualisation software used in scientific computing in chemistry.

The doctoral network TRANSCEND brings together the perspectives from science, philosophy and patient-centred care to develop and evaluate a new transdisciplinary approach to translational research on autism spectrum disorder and multiple sclerosis.

Using large-scale digital data, the project traces the historical expansion of chemistry through three interconnected dimensions: material, social, and semiotic.
