Creating accessible documents with Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign is a layout and typesetting application used in desktop publishing. As it was originally designed for print media, some points must be considered when creating PDFs to ensure they are also accessible. Plug-ins such as Adobe’s MadeToTag, are available to make it easier to produce accessible PDF files.

LinkedIn Learning offers an on-line course on accessible documents with Adobe InDesign. Staff members of Bielefeld University can sign up to this class free of charge.

The TU Dresden offers an online guide on accessible documents with InDesign (PDF). This includes step-by-step instructions on how to create accessible PDFs.

The following video shows what you need to consider when creating accessible PDFs in InDesign.
