HoloLens is a pair of mixed reality glasses from Microsoft that projects holographic content into the real environment for the user and enables intuitive interaction via hand tracking, voice control and eye tracking. We use the more advanced HoloLens 2 model in our work.
It uses inside-out tracking so that it can orientate itself and no external sensors are required. Powered by a processor and a special holographic processing unit (HPU), it works completely autonomously and wirelessly.
The glasses are primarily used in various industries such as medicine, education and design to support training, maintenance and development processes with augmented reality. With their ergonomic design and a practical flip-up visor, they are particularly optimised for professional use and find application in various of our projects.
