Michael Römer joined Bielefeld University in Dember 2019 and leads the Decision Analytics Group. His group is funded by the state North Rhine Westfalia in the return program ("Rückkehrprogramm") and deals with approaches combining combinatorial optimization and machine learning for planning and decision making under uncertainty. Prior to joining Bielefeld University, Michael Römer held postdoc positions at the Rotman School of Management (University of Toronto) and Polytechnique Montréal. He obtained his PhD from Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg where he dealt with Airline Crew Scheduling.
