The Erasmus+ project EUMathClass aims to strengthen the diagnostic competencies of pre-service mathematics teachers. In increasingly heterogeneous classrooms across Europe, future teachers must be able to assess students’ mathematical understanding accurately, identify learning difficulties early, and provide targeted support. EUMathClass therefore places the professional development of pre-service teachers at the centre of a research-based and practice-oriented international training concept.
The project develops a modular seminar framework that combines diagnostic foundations, formative and summative assessment approaches, and intervention strategies. Through an international COIL format (Collaborative Online International Learning), students from several European universities collaborate.
