Interactive Robotics in Medicine and Care

The Interactive Robotics in Medicine and Care research group headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anna-Lisa Vollmer is part of the Medical School OWL at Bielefeld University. Our work lies at the interface of social robotics, cognitive sciences and machine learning, applied to assistance needs in medicine and care.

People with individual needs and wants should be able to teach robots how to best assist them.
To do this, we use leading-edge hardware and methods from AI and robotics to enable learning in interaction with humans, but also to study interaction and better understand the social cognition of humans.

The successful implementation of intelligent technical systems in practice is another focus of research for the working group.

Route description

Building R1 is highlighted on the campus plan in the picture. The picture can be enlarged by clicking on it if necessary. The easiest way to reach the premises of AG 16 is to take the main entrance at Morgenbreede into building R1. In the entrance hall the way leads further through the corridor on the left to the next staircase. In the stairwell, the individual floors are marked by labels A0 to A3. The A3 corridor is located on the highest floor in the A corridor on the right side. Here you will find, among other things, the office of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Anna-Lisa Vollmer.
