SchreibZeit / WritingTime

SchreibZeit is a digital writing retreat. It helps us establish a dedicated time slot for writing in our schedules. We meet every Friday at 9:00 a.m. on Zoom to work on our current writing projects for three hours and receive professional support if needed. While there is no obligation to attend every session, research shows that the most productive academic writers are those who turn writing into a habit (Boice, 1990; Belcher, 2009; Jensen 2017; Goodson, 2024).

Each session begins with a brief group check-in, during which participants set their goals for the session. After 90 minutes, we take a break. The silent, individual writing phase ends at 12:00 p.m. Participants are expected to remain in the Zoom room for the full three-hour session to avoid disruptions and foster a sense of community. However, anyone is free to leave before the optional discussion begins.
