The Center for Theories in Historical Research at the Faculty of History, Philosophy, and Theology hereby invites you to submit proposals for workshops in the Summer Semester of 2021 and Winter Semester of 2021/22.
Workshops should address theories of history or theories in historical research and (where appropriate) their empirical application. They will take place between May 2021 and the end of March 2022, and should be conceptualized to accommodate members of the History Department and external scholars. Events can be transepochal and/or transdisciplinary, but this is not a requirement.
The maximum amount of funding for a single application is €1,500 and can be reduced or increased depending on the number of eligible projects.
All members of the Center for Theories in Historical Research are entitled to apply. Joint applications are welcome. In this case, at least half the number of applicants concerned must be members of the Center for Theories in Historical Research. Please submit your proposal in the form of a brief synopsis that clearly states the role of theories of history or theories in historical research in the workshop design (3-5 line abstract, 2-page concept, details of workshop content and time frame, list of possible speakers, cost report, and a brief indication of whether publication is planned). The synopsis should not exceed 4 pages. Please send applications in electronic form (PDF document) to the Executive Board of the Center by 28 February 2021:
Selection process: The Board of Directors will decide on application acceptance within four weeks.
