GIZ
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is a service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work. It is headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn. The organization's goal is to deliver effective solutions that offer people better prospects and sustainably improve their living conditions (https://www.giz.de/en/aboutgiz/profile.html).
Since 2025 there has been a cooperation between GIZ and the World Studies degree programme. We cooperate in different relevant areas including:
- Students visits to GIZ facilities in Eschborn or Bonn
- Workshops and guest lectures with cooperation of GIZ experts in Bielefeld University
- Participation of students and staff in selected GIZ events, possibly as resource persons (for inputs on panels, discussants, side events etc.)
- Master’s thesis collaborations at project level
- Possible is also an exchange on topics that are currently important to both institutions e.g. Working on Conflict/Fragility, integrated peacebuilding, displacement/migration trends in politics and significance for implementation, etc.).
- Students are encouraged to search for internships on the GIZ website
Bertelsmann Stiftung
The Bertelsmann Stiftung is an independent foundation under private law, based in Gütersloh, Germany. It was founded in 1977. The foundation promotes reform processes and the principles of entrepreneurial activity to build a future-oriented society.
Since 2025 there has been a cooperation between Bertelsmann Stiftung and the World Studies degree programme. We cooperate in different relevant areas including:
- Students visits to Bertelsmann Stiftung facilities in Gütersloh
- Workshops and guest lectures with cooperation of Bertelsmann Stiftung experts in Bielefeld University
Possible is also an exchange on topics that are currently important to both institutions e.g. Working on Conflict/Fragility, integrated peacebuilding, displacement/migration trends in politics and significance for implementation, etc.).
