Application for Master programmes and Deadlines

The following information concerns the Master's degree programmes in Mathematics and Mathematical Economics. The admission procedure of the master programme Mathematical and Theoretical Physics is carried out by the Faculty of Physics.

Applications for these master programmes are made via the university's application portal: https://campus.uni-bielefeld.de.

The application deadlines and a list of the necessary application documents can be found below.

The responsible officer of the faculty decides on the subject-related admission to the master programme usually within two weeks if the documents are submitted early. In the case of foreign degrees, further examination steps are required in addition to the examination of the subject-related admission. The processing time is extended accordingly.

Application deadline for applicants with German qualifications 01.06. – 30.09. 01.12. – 31.03.
Application deadline for applicants with foreign qualifications 01.06. – 15.07. 01.12. – 15.01.
Deadline for enrolement in the master programme 15.11. 15.05

Application documents

  1. Final certificate of a previous qualified degree and the associated documents (transcript, transcript of records, diploma supplement or similar), which provide information about the individual course of studies, the completed modules, the achievements made during the degree programme and their evaluations and about the individual professional profile of the completed degree programme. If a final certificate of such a degree is not yet available, a provisional final document with a provisional final grade and a current Transcript of Records or correspondingly informative documents can be submitted.
  2. Module Guide of the previous qualifying degree. Applicants who have completed such a degree at Bielefeld University can find the Module Guides for download as PDF files on the page of your degree programme in the electronic course catalogue (ekvv).
  3. Further documents proving that your previous degree is qualified in the sense of the Subject-specific regulations (cf. there para. 2), especially that it is evidence-oriented.
