Small and medium-sized enterprises are facing considerable challenges, such as the shortage of skilled workers. As a result, the need for simple, robust and cost-effective robot systems is becoming increasingly clear. Fortunately, some recent studies in the field of AI suggest that the long-held dream of robots that learn intuitively and autonomously could become a reality. This would mean that many companies in the manufacturing sector will in future have access to robot technologies that were previously considered too complicated and expensive.
In this presentation, Prof. Neumann from Fraunhofer IOSB-INA and Bielefeld University will shed light on the relevant concepts, potentials and challenges for robot-driven automation in small and medium-sized enterprises and provide an outlook for future developments.
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Klaus Neumann (Fraunhofer IOSB-INA, University of Bielefeld)
