Concept, Development and Evaluation of a Digital Stress Test for the induction and recording of acute stress responses:
Psychosocial stress is a well-established risk factor for the development of cardiovascular, metabolic and mental diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, anxiety and depression.
Most stress studies so far focus on acute stress induced in the laboratory, are labor-intensive and cannot be scaled to bigger cohorts nor transferred to daily life scenarios.
We propose the “Digital Stress Test (DST)” as a new smartphone-based and scalable research tool for the induction and recording of acute stress responses.
