A doctorate opens up new horizons!

Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM) offers the structured, comprehensive doctoral programme Economics and Management with four possible profiles in Economics, Finance, Management and Data Science. The doctoral study programme is designed for three years. Each profile has its own curriculum.

BiGSEM is integrated at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW).
BiGSEM is a member of the Bielefeld Graduate School in Theoretical Sciences a joint institution of different faculties and one central scientific institution.



Profiles

Lectures & Courses

Overview of the current lectures and courses for BIGSEM doctoral candidates in the ekvv.

BiGSEM Economics/Finance candidates must participate in the BiGSEM Colloquium during the semester, where each doctoral candidate presents their work or discusses relevant papers at least once a year. The sessions begin at 4pm in room H9. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Overview lecture

BiGSEM Economics/Finance candidates must attend the Research Seminar during the semester, which features outside speakers and takes place on Tuesdays at 17:30 in room H9.

Overview of current events.

BiGSEM Management candidats must attend the semester's BiGSEM Colloquium. Each doctoral candidate presents their work or discusses relevant papers at least once a year. Everyone is welcome to join the sessions, starting at 2pm in room U3-140.

Titles and additional information will be provided before the presentations.

The Research Seminar talks are mainly held by outside speakers. BiGSEM candidates with the Profile Management are required to attend the seminar during the semester.

Overview of current events.

In the winter semester of 2023/24, the 13th Junior Workshop of the Center for Statistics will take place at the University of Bielefeld.

During the Junior Workshop, doctoral candidates from the areas associated with the Center for Statistics have presented and discussed their research fields with one another.
