HMM workshops

If you are interested in bringing us to your institution to give a workshop on HMMs, with theoretical & practical sessions, but also time slots where we can work on the participants' very own data, then contact us and we'll see if we can arrange something. We always like to "spread the word" about HMMs, to meet interesting people and to work on some cool data sets!

Some recent workshops:

  • "Hidden Markov models for animal movement and other ecological data", Oceans Research, Mossel Bay, South Africa, March 2016 (Instructors: Roland Langrock & Théo Michelot)
  • "Hidden Markov models for animal movement and other ecological data", University of St Andrews, UK, August 2017 (Instructors: Roland Langrock, Stacy DeRuiter, Théo Michelot, Timo Adam & Jennifer Pohle)
  • "Hidden Markov models – versatile tools for analysing animal movement and other time series data", Bielefeld, Germany, September 2018 (Instructors: Roland Langrock & Vianey Leos-Barajas)
  • "Hidden Markov models for animal movement and other ecological data", ISEC 2022, Cape Town, South Africa, June 2022 (Instructors: Roland Langrock & Sina Mews)
  • "Hidden Markov models for animal movement and other ecological data", Linnaeus University, Kalmar, Sweden, October 2022 (Instructor: Roland Langrock)

  • "Hidden Markov models for movement, acceleration and other ecological data", PRStats (online), September 2024 (Instructors: Roland Langrock, Carlina Feldmann, Jan-Ole Koslik)
