

The ZAB student counselling service will support you with hurdles that arise during your studies and inform you about your rights. You can also contact us if you are still studying and would like more information. We will be happy to advise you!
We offer voluntary, confidential, independent counselling for students and prospective students on all topics relating to barrier-free studies. This is based on resource- and solution-oriented counselling approaches. You do not need to present a medical certificate or medical diagnosis to take part in a counselling session. If you wish, you can also contact us anonymously.

Counselling can be provided in person, by telephone or via Zoom.
The representative for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses represents the interests of students with disabilities or chronic or mental illnesses at the university.
This primarily relates to the organisation of teaching and study conditions. In addition, the representative advocates for the compensation of disability- or illness-related disadvantages in access and admission to studies as well as in examinations during studies.
Mr Michael Johannfunke has held the position of Representative for Students with Disabilities or Chronic Illness since 2020. He was nominated by the students, elected by the Senate and represents the interests of students with disabilities, chronic or mental illnesses within the university framework. He is particularly committed to ensuring barrier-free access to higher education at Bielefeld University.
