Study Assistance

A study assistant may be an option for students with, for example, a motor disability, a sensory impairment or a mental illness. Study assistants support students in coping with their daily study routine. Often, study assistants are also fellow students who provide assistance as part of a part-time job. Tasks of study assistants are for example:

  • Taking notes during the courses
  • Copying literature from the library
  • Reading out literature to students
  • Assistance in overcoming structural barriers

Whether and to what extent a study assistance is necessary is to be assessed by the students themselves. We will be happy to advise you on clarifying this very individual question.

The application for a study assistance as well as for material aids for the purpose of studying is always made to the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe.

The provision of a study assistance cannot be provided by Bielefeld University itself .
