No personal data is collected and stored when using the UniMaps app, as it is an application that can be used without logging in with a user name and password. However, for transparency purposes, information on data processing is provided:
Network Access & Network Connections
Network access is required because the UniMaps app can only update data when it is in online mode. For example, data from Bielefeld University's staff directory or the cafeteria's meal plans are retrieved and updated online.
Localisation / WLAN
Access to your location data is required to determine your location on the map if requested and the starting point. These are not transmitted to external servers, but are only processed locally on your smartphone.
Reports to the control room
Messages about barriers or faults can be saved locally on the device or also reported to the control room. The user's e-mail program is opened on their smartphone with data about the approximate location and the problem, which is provided in advance by the app. The user then decides whether an email is sent to the control room in their name.
Error reports
If the app crashed or other errors occurred, that information will be reported immediately to the Gitlab servers or straight after reopening the app. The reported information does not include any personal information.

Cafeteria meal plan, staff directory and train timetable
For the display of the current meal plans, the data is obtained via a UniMaps server when the app is opened. No access data is stored in the process. Same conditions apply as well to the timetable as to the staff directory (PEVZ).
