What the departmental student representative committee is and what we do

By definition, a departmental student representative committee is an "institution representing student interests at universities and other higher education institutions".
To put it more simply: as students, we voluntarily take on certain tasks and offices in day-to-day university life. For example, we are represented on various committees and commissions and therefore have a direct influence on university life. It is also our job to be there for you (biology students) and represent your interests. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need support!
The student body gives you the opportunity to have a direct influence on teaching and everyday university life and to represent the interests of the student body. For example, the departmental student representative committee has a say in how and what is taught, how financial resources are spent or which lecturers lead courses.
Apart from the "official" tasks of the departmental student representative committee, we often organise events for students such as the regular "Schlag die Fachschaft!", "Biocafe mit Biokaffee" or Flunkyball tournaments and organise the programme for Freshers' Week. If you would like to help organise social events or have ideas for events, you are welcome to contact us! Student council work doesn't have to be boring! ;)
So if you would like to take a look behind the scenes of university life, implement your own ideas, exert influence and become active yourself, then we cordially invite you to drop by at one of our meetings. You can find meeting dates on Instagram or on the info board in front of V3-142.
We look forward to seeing you!
