Materialwerkstatt Forschendes Lernen

Die Materialwerkstatt schließt sich an den dann abgeschlossenen FEP FLidO (Forschendes Lernen in der Oberstufe) an, in dem verschiedene Kurskonzepte Forschenden Lernens (FL) entwickelt und evaluiert wurden. Leitfrage war dabei wie FL im Unterricht gelingen kann. Schwerpunkt der Evaluation waren Fragen der Gelingensbedingungen von FL, Chancen und Grenzen bei der Umsetzung FLs in verschiedenen Unterrichtskonzepten (fachübergreifendes Profil und Kurse der Demokratischen Partizipation (DP)) sowie Veränderung der Einstellungen der KollegiatInnen zu Forschung. Hierzu entstanden vielfältige Publikationen.

Unterrichtsmaterialien zur Einführung in FL wurden bisher hauptsächlich in Profil 11 ("Mit Kopf, Herz und Hand") entwickelt. Dies fand schwerpunktmäßig im Jahr 2018 im Rahmen der Profil- und Unterrichtsentwicklung statt. Exemplarisch wurden auch bereits einzelne Materialien und Arbeitsergebnisse der KollegiatInnen in der Zeitschrift PädagogikUnterricht publiziert (Jacobs & Schumacher, 2020).

Eine systematische Evaluation der Materialien stand bisher nicht im Fokus des FEPs. Bei der Durchführung von Forschungsprojekten in Profil 11 im Schuljahr 22/23 ist zudem aufgefallen, dass das Material z.T. nicht mehr allen aktuellen Unterrichtsanforderungen entspricht, so werden bspw. keine digitalen Erhebungsformate berücksichtigt, die in den letzten Jahren immer mehr an Bedeutung gewonnen haben und dementsprechend Ergänzungsbedarf besteht.

Ziel der Materialwerkstatt ist somit ein doppeltes: Zum einen soll bereits bestehendes Material aktualisiert (z.B. Gegenüberstellung verschiedener Forschungsparadigmen; Leitfäden zur Erstellung verschiedener Erhebungsinstrumente) und ergänzt werden. (Hier liegt ein Schwerpunkt auf Material zum Einsatz digitaler Tools zur Erstellung und Auswertung von Umfragen, die datenschutzkonform im Unterricht eingesetzt werden können.) Zum anderen sollen die überarbeiteten bzw. neu entwickelten Materialien mit KollegInnen diskutiert, im Unterricht eingesetzt und evaluiert werden (hierfür werden keine Stunden für KollegInnen vorgesehen).

The project is a follow-up to the completed FEP "Forschendes Lernen in der Oberstufe" (FLidO, “research-based learning in upper secondary schooling”), in which different course concepts for research-based learning (RBL) were developed and evaluated. The key question was how FL can be successfully implemented in the classroom. The evaluation focused on questions of the conditions for success of FL, the possibilities and limits of implementing FL in different teaching concepts (interdisciplinary profile and democratic participation courses) as well as changes in students' attitudes towards research. A number of publications have been produced on this topic.

Teaching materials for the introduction to RBL have so far mainly been developed in profile 11 ("With head, heart and hand"). This took place mainly in 2018 as part of the profile and teaching development. Examples of individual materials and the results of the colleagues' work have already been published in the journal PädagogikUnterricht (Jacobs & Schumacher, 2020).

A systematic evaluation of the materials has not yet been the focus of the FEP. During the research projects in profile 11 in the school year 22/23, it also became clear that some of the materials no longer meet all current teaching requirements, e.g. digital survey formats, which have become increasingly important in recent years and therefore need to be supplemented, are not taken into account.

The aim of the project is therefore twofold: on the one hand, to update and supplement existing material (e.g. comparison of research paradigms; guidelines for the construction of survey instruments). (The focus will be on material on the use of digital tools for creating and analysing surveys that can be used in the classroom in compliance with data protection regulations). On the other hand, the revised or newly developed materials are to be discussed with colleagues, used in the classroom and evaluated.
