The Faculty of Technology

combines Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Biotechnology within a unique interdisciplinary environment. Since its foundation in 1990, it has stood for innovative research and excellent teaching at the interface of technology, natural sciences, and mathematics. We provide scientific foundations closely linked to socially relevant applications in the fields of AI, robotics, and modern biotechnology.

• Bioinformatics & Computer Science in the Natural Sciences
• Intelligent Interactive Systems & Artificial Intelligence
• Cutting-edge research in collaboration with the research centres for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC), Biotechnology (CeBiTec), Cognition and Robotics (CoR-Lab) and Mathematical Modelling (RCM²) 
• Practical Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD programmes

Diverse interdisciplinary collaborations with other Faculties (especially Chemistry, Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Mathematics) at Bielefeld University, the Research Centre for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) and the "Center for Biotechnology" (CeBiTec) permeate research and teaching.
