bridging Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology in a uniquely interdisciplinary environment. Since its foundation in 1990, the Faculty has been standing for innovative research and excellent teaching at the interface of Technology, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Cognitive Science. We foster talent that masters scientific principles and methods and links then with socially relevant applications in the fields of AI, Robotics, Science Informatics and Biotechnology.

Diverse interdisciplinary collaborations with other Faculties (especially Chemistry, Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Mathematics) at Bielefeld University, the Research Centre for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) and the "Center for Biotechnology" (CeBiTec) permeate research and teaching.
