Faculty of Technology
combines computer science, artificial intelligence and biotechnology in a uniquely interdisciplinary environment. Since its foundation in 1990, it has stood for innovative research and excellent teaching at the interface of technology, natural sciences and mathematics. We teach scientific principles coupled with socially relevant applications in the fields of AI, robotics and modern biotechnology.

Diverse interdisciplinary collaborations with other Faculties (especially Chemistry, Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Mathematics) at Bielefeld University, the Research Centre for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) and the "Center for Biotechnology" (CeBiTec) permeate research and teaching.
