We are pleased to announce the 20th edition of the BiGSEM Doctoral Workshop, hosted by the Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BiGSEM), which will take place on December 15-16, 2025, at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research (ZiF) in Bielefeld, Germany.

Organized entirely by BiGSEM doctoral candidates, this international workshop provides a platform for PhD students in economics, finance, and management to present their ongoing research, receive feedback from peers and senior researchers, and discuss current developments in an open and constructive atmosphere.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the workshop, we are excited to introduce a special Alumni Session, where former participants will share insights into their career paths, both within and beyond academia. We are pleased to welcome back three distinguished alumni:

  • Prof. Dr. Sebastian Ebert (Alfred-Weber-Institute for Economics)
  • Alexandra Rusu, PhD (OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities)
  • Margaret Samahita, PhD (University College Dublin)

Each alumni talk will be followed by a Q&A, offering current PhD students valuable perspectives on post-PhD career choices, challenges, and lessons learned.

We invite PhD students in economics, finance, and management to present their research at the workshop. Submissions are open until September 30, 2025, and further details can be found in the Call for Papers - Programm - Poster.
