bridging Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology in a uniquely interdisciplinary environment. Since its foundation in 1990, the Faculty has been standing for innovative research and excellent teaching at the interface of Technology, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Cognitive Science. We foster talent that masters scientific principles and methods and links then with socially relevant applications in the fields of AI, Robotics, Science Informatics and Biotechnology.

At our research centres, we work closely with other faculties at Bielefeld University, particularly Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Linguistics and Mathematics. These interdisciplinary collaborations give rise to new research questions and ideas, which also enrich and shape our teaching.
