Research at the faculty can be summarized in overarching priorities: "Individuality & Interaction", "Sustainability & Resource Efficiency" and "Networks: From Genes to Metabolism to Diversity".
The Faculty of Biology is research-oriented. The research fields of the working groups cover a broad spectrum of innovative biological topics.
Interdisciplinary cooperation also within the framework of the "Center for Biotechnology" (CeBiTec) permeates research and teaching. The Collaborative Research Center "NC3" and a research group of the DFG are located at the faculty.
