Doctoral Program

In the British and American Studies section at Bielefeld University, students can earn a Ph.D. (Dr. phil.) degree. This academic qualification is based on individual creative research conducted under the supervision of one of the senior lecturers, primarily one of our professors.
Ph.D. research can be conducted in all areas in which those lecturers have research interests. Additionally, students may freely choose from university courses and (if available) BGHS (Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology) workshops that are relevant to their needs.
