Franz Xaver Kaufmann Prize

In 2019, the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University will for the first time announce the Franz Xaver Kaufmann Prize for Young Academics, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. The prize is awarded and honours young researchers in the subjects represented at the Faculty of Sociology at an early stage of their careers.

About the Franz Xaver Kaufmann Prize

The award is given to academics in the subjects represented at the Faculty of Sociology who have published a second "internationally visible" academic work within five years of gaining their doctorate or who have produced comparable academic work in German or English and who can already be expected to make significant internationally visible academic contributions in the future in the aforementioned subjects.

All relevant professors have the right of nomination. Self-applications are not possible. Persons who already hold a permanent professorship cannot be nominated.
