Our tasks

We at the Student Council advocate for the interests of all students in various ways. We represent you on university committees, mediate in conflicts, are there for you as equal contacts and also organise parties or games evenings where you can get to know each other.

Representation of the students

As the Student Council, we are there for you if you have any study-related questions. If you have problems with teaching staff, difficulties with seminar papers or anything else, you can always turn to us and talk to us as equals - as we are all students, we probably know most of the problems too. However, if we don't have an answer to your questions, we can put you in touch with the right people or at least try to find a solution together with you.

Committee work

The Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology is governed by committees made up of various status groups. In addition to professors, academic co-workers (non-professorial academic staff) and non-academic staff, we students are of course also members of many committees. In the committees, we are actively involved in deciding topics that are relevant to us, including the appointment of professors, curriculum planning and gender equality issues. This gives us an interesting insight "behind the scenes" and the opportunity to build up a useful network.

You can find an overview of the committees in which we are represented and which you can contact with various topics on the left under Committees.

Counselling

In addition to the aforementioned unofficial counselling of us students within the Student Council, there is also our official student counselling service, which works closely with the Student Council. Our student advisors Laura, Lena and Karoline will help you with topics such as creating a timetable, support in looking through the module overview and numerous other topics relevant to your studies.

Events

We organise the orientation days and other events such as parties, pub evenings and pen & paper evenings as well as relaxed games evenings in our Student Council Café. We also organise larger events such as the first-year student trip.
