Committees

Students from the departmental student representative committee are represented on numerous faculty committees and represent the interests of the students there. These committees are essentially working groups on a specific topic on which the representatives of the status groups (professors, academic co-workers, non-academic co-workers and students) meet and discuss. The head of these committees is the faculty conference, which decides what has been discussed in the other committees.

Some of the most important committees are

Faculty conference:

The faculty conference is the body in which decisions are made that are developed in other committees. It is chaired by the Dean and is made up of annually elected members from all status groups. This includes professors from all departments, academic and non-academic staff and student representatives. In addition to the resolutions, many other faculty-relevant topics are discussed and debated.

Equal Opportunities Commission:

The members of the Equal Opportunities Commission are your contacts for all questions and problems concerning transgressive behaviour. You can find all important information on the Equal Opportunities Commission page. You can use the form to contact them or contact your student representatives directly. The GleiKo is also responsible for the advancement of women at various levels.

Teaching commission:

This commission is responsible for planning teaching for the coming semesters and discussing all topics relevant to teaching. Representatives of all status groups are also assembled here.

Appointment committee:

Appointment committees discuss which candidates are best suited to professorships. As students, we therefore have the opportunity to get to know the applicants ourselves and gain a deeper insight into their previous work. The BeKo then submits its recommendation to the faculty conference, where the proposal is voted on.
