The students are enabled in didactic and methodological terms to use the acquired knowledge and the corresponding practice-relevant competences for the analysis and reflection of gender relations and the implementation of gender justice and equal opportunities in professional work contexts.
Gender Studies graduates are thus particularly qualified for a wide range of occupational fields. Business, politics, science, administration, counselling, as well as association and educational work, media, health care, or social work are possible occupational fields. practical employment opportunities.
Finally, the MA "Gender Studies - Interdisciplinary Research and Application" programme enables research-related learning and introduces students to the practice of transdisciplinary academic work. The systematic anchoring of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in the study programme (especially in the form of co- and team-teaching) is ensured through the close connection to the research activities of the professors and junior researchers engaged at the IZG (Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies).
Students are supported on their way into professional life by a wide range of services, for example the university career service, the study programme advisory service or the Federal Employment Agency at the university. In addition, there is the Internship Office, which offers assistance in gaining work experience in an internship.
