Karolina Czok

Karolina Czok holds a B.A. in Quantitative Methods in Economics and Information Systems from the Warsaw School of Economics, including a visiting semester at the University of Queensland, Australia, and an M.Sc. in Cognitive Science from the University of Warsaw. Her master’s research focused on identifying and mitigating gender bias in Polish-language NLP models. She subsequently gained four years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer in Poland and Slovakia.

In July 2025, she joined the Semantic Computing Group at Bielefeld University as a Doctoral Researcher. She is involved in the LLM4KMU project, which aims to optimize the use of open source large language models in small and medium-sized enterprises. Her research interests include human reliance on AI systems and bias and fairness in language models.
