ESyMath is a focus area that brings together researchers from various areas of mathematics, i.e. algebra, analysis, geometry, and probability theory, as well as experts in applied sciences, namely data science, machine learning, mathematical economics, and theoretical physics. The focus area unites a number of existing research projects, including two CRCs and two ERC grants, with the aim of developing synergies among the various stakeholders.
