Ordering psychological tests

Tests can be ordered directly via Catalogue.plus. Alternatively, you can send an email in advance to testothek.ub@uni-bielefeld.de and let us know which test you require. The tests will then be made available for you to collect for a period of 3 days.

Collection of tests

Monday – Friday, 13 – 14
Psychological test collection service desk in U0, accessed via Entrance V

The psychological test collection houses materials which, due to their complex nature – and in some cases comprising many individual components – cannot be made freely accessible. The main focus is on an extensive collection of approximately 1,500 different psychological tests (often in multiple copies), which can be borrowed under strictly controlled conditions, in accordance with the guidelines of the German Psychological Association (BDP) and the International Test Commission (ITC). The test collection comprises German and international test procedures from the fields of psychology, clinical linguistics, education, sports science, and health sciences.

Guidance on use

  • Tests that have been borrowed must not be reproduced (e.g. by photocopying, scanning, or photographing) or passed on to third parties. It is also not permitted to fill in or write on the materials.
  • Please note the specific terms of use for examination procedures that require proof of qualification.
  • Interlibrary loan requests for test materials are not permitted.

Loaning of diagnostic materials from the psychological test collection which require proof of qualification

The following are authorised to use the service:

  1. Members of Bielefeld University:
    • Teaching staff and research staff in the field of psychology or related disciplines with a legitimate academic interest
    • Psychology students who can provide either proof of attendance at a course on diagnostics (e.g. via an extract from their academic transcript) or a bachelor’s degree.
    • Students of Integrated Special Education who can provide evidence of having attended a course on diagnostics (extract from their academic transcript) (however, this does not entitle them to access ‘Clinical Tests for Adults’)
    • Students of clinical linguistics who can provide evidence of having attended a course on diagnostics (extract from their academic transcript)
    • Students who can provide confirmation from teaching staff in psychology or a related discipline that the tests are being used as part of their course
  2. External users who are not affiliated with the university:
    • Psychologists (master’s or diploma degree)
    • Certified psychotherapists and those currently undergoing psychotherapy training
    • Special needs teachers (master’s or diploma) (though not authorised to use ‘Clinical Tests for Adults’)

On-site borrowing by external users:

External users (meeting the criteria listed above) require a valid library card to borrow items on-site. Proof of qualification, in the form of, for example, school reports, diplomas, certificates or attestation letters, must be presented only once. A copy of the relevant documents is generally sufficient; it is possible and encouraged to black out grades on the copy.
