Gender Equality

The Equal Opportunities Officers of the University Library, together with the other decentralised Equal Opportunities Officers and Equal Opportunities Commissions, support the central Equal Opportunities Officer of the University in implementing the Act on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesgleichstellungsgesetz - LGG). They exercise the rights of the central Equal Opportunities Officer on her behalf, unless she wishes to do so herself.

The library's equal opportunities officers advise and support

• the library management in the planning and implementation of all personnel-related measures at Bielefeld University Library;
• employees in matters relating to gender equality and the compatibility of work and family life.
