Information on Publication Cost Funding

If fees for your open access publication are covered by the Publication Fund or by Bielefeld University via a publishing contract (e.g. „Projekt DEAL“), please note the following recommendations:

• If possible, the publication should receive a DOI and be linked to the author's ORCID profile.
• The funded publication must include a CC licence or, alternatively, provide another legally secure regulation for reuse. The DFG recommends using a CC-BY licence for articles and a CC-BY-SA licence for monographs (CC-BY-ND in exceptional cases).
• As part of the open access status, authors grant the publisher a simple right of use to their publication - not an exclusive right of use.

These recommendations result from the DFG funding programme „Open Access Publication Costs“, which the university library has acquired to co-finance publication funds and publishing contracts with an open access component.
