Function and Duties

The Officer of the Rectorate is tasked with supporting and further developing Bielefeld University’s international networking and cooperation with the European Universities Alliance NEOLAiA. The specific responsibilities here include:

  • The European Universities Alliance NEOLAiA, especially:
    • Implementing the work packages of “Diversity and Inclusion” with our own taskforce.
    • Representing the Rector and Bielefeld University in committees of the European Universities initiative.
  • Representing the Rector to the Vice Rectors for International Affairs in North Rhine-Westphalia
  • Further developing strategic partnerships, including with universities in Bologna, Alberta, Osaka, and Guadalajara
  • Strategic positioning of the New York office of the OWL campus
  • Management and strategic development of the International Guest Lectureship Programme (IGL)

Michaela Vogt has been Professor of Educational Sciences with a focus on the theory and history of inclusive education at Bielefeld University since 2018. She studied public school elementary education (majoring in biology) and earned her doctorate in school pedagogy with a dissertation entitled “Professional knowledge about elementary school pupils in the GDR: Investigations of the Teacher’s Journal ‘Die Unterstufe’ from 1954–1964” (published 2015, Klinkhardt publications).

 

Since December 2022, she has served as Officer of the Rectorate for international networking.
