On September 25th 2015, 193 United Nations member countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, fight inequality and injustice, tackle climate change and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.
Microbial and parasitic diseases are a dramatic public health problem in tropical countries. Therefore, strategies for improving the health status of the population in a sustainable and affordable way are of prominent importance for economic development.
