The research project is based at the nationally decentralised Research Institute for Social Cohesion (FGZ).
The cooperative research project focuses on young people as actors and generational unit(s) and examines their ideas, attitudes, mentalities and behavioural practices in times of crisis, conflict and transformation. Against the background of a society characterised by crises and conflicts, three axes of observation of young people and youth-related everyday cultures are linked for the projects in the work package: a) the development of political and social cohesion-related dispositions among young people in families and social milieus as well as their generational transformation and transmission dynamics, b) social media as a youth-cultural socialisation reality and c) youth-specific forms of action and organisation. The following research questions are pursued in the work package:
The sub-project by Ullrich Bauer and Baris Ertugrul uses a multi-methodological approach to identify the dynamics of the socialisation genesis of political conflict dispositions and ideas of cohesion in families.
