One of the most important challenges in gender and health research is to further link theory and practice to bring about changes in (gynaecological and obstetric) care based on research findings. The project "fair*Körpert - Promoting Knowledge and Diversity in Gynecology" aims to strengthen exchange and discourse on diversity and gender norms in gynaecological care. The three project components include various activities in the areas of knowledge transfer and awareness-raising and address different target groups.

Research and scientific exchange:
As part of the project, we will organize an interdisciplinary workshop on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Germany in early 2026. The workshop will provide an opportunity for young researchers to network and present and discuss their current research projects. Part of the workshop will probably focus explicitly on the topic of science communication.

Dissemination of research findings/science communication:
Sexual and reproductive rights are human rights and must be considered from an intersectional perspective. A new book will bring together different points of view on the topic, theories, and practical examples. Its intended audience includes, among others, interested members of the public and young adults.

Raising awareness in medical education:
As part of the project, we are developing a short, interactive online course for students of medicine and related disciplines. The online course aims to raise awareness for existing biases in treatment and to help students reflect on gender-sensitive and inclusive medical practice.
