Our work

The Equal Opportunities Commission of the School of Public Health deals with personnel, structural, organisational and social measures for gender equality at the Faculty. The structural measures are characterised, for example, by the discussion format of the "Round Table" and a planned survey on discrimination experiences of students and staff. In addition, the Equal Opportunities Commission performs an advisory function within the Faculty and there is always the possibility to approach the equality actors with various concerns and to make use of an advisory service.

 

An overview of our work:

  • Counselling (individual counselling services)
  • Personnel measures (e.g. staffing and appointment procedures)
  • Structural measures (e.g. the round table discussion format and a planned survey on experiences of discrimination by students and staff at Bielefeld University)
  • Organisational measures (including communication and public relations)
  • Social measures (including the creation of handouts on support services at Bielefeld University)
  • Equality plans (preparation of equality plans as well as comments on the equality plans of the Faculties)
