Mental health of nurses, physicians and other healthcare professionals in times of the Covid-19 pandemic - an international comparison

For over a year now healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses and physiotherapists work at the forefront of combatting the Covid-19 pandemic and continue to be confronted with major challenges, in particular including a high job strain resulting from an increased physical and psychological burden at work. It has been shown that the dramatic situation for health workers can lead to psychological problems in the long term. This online survey aims to assess potential personal and professional risk factors in healthcare professional and their relationship with a variety of mental health consequences including posttraumatic symptoms, depression and burnout.

The study is headed by Prof. Dr. Claudia Catani from the Unit of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Bielefeld.

We conduct the survey in three countries, Italy, Germany and Iraq. Therefore, the questionnaire is available in various languages.
