Individuals differ. However, it is still largely unclear why and how such differences arise and what consequences they have. The process of individualisation is driven by the interactions between an individual and their physical, biological and social environment. Facets of this process have been studied in many fields of research, but a comprehensive understanding requires an interdisciplinary approach that brings the findings together. InChangE will bring together researchers from several research initiatives and from over ten fields of research to bridge this gap and investigate the causes and consequences of individualisation in animals and humans.
