GrACe supports profile development at Bielefeld University
The Graduate and Academic Career Development Centre is geared towards the needs of academics and the strategic goals of Bielefeld University. This includes, in particular, the support of profile development, which we support with customised formats - right from the start.
Among other things, we focus on the strong interdisciplinarity with its opportunities and challenges as well as the avoidance of possible diffusion of responsibility when working together in very large groups.
In addition, our programmes focus on aspects such as the special visibility of those involved, which must be well designed in the profile-building process.
We have initially developed two formats for focus areas: Start with focus & Stay focussed. In collaboration with the academics involved, we would like to accompany the process of profile development along the respective needs and gradually add further support formats.

Moderated kick-off workshops for (new) focus areas to support good collaboration in large, interdisciplinary teams:
- How do we want to work together, who has what role?
- What do we want to achieve, what is our ambition?
- How can we organise interdisciplinary collaboration effectively?
