Research with personal data inevitably involves dealing with data protection - and this can be cumbersome and cause worries about doing something wrong when handling personal data. To give you more time for your research and enable you to work in a data protection-compliant manner, we will teach you the necessary basics of data protection that you need to know when handling personal data in the context of research projects. Under what conditions am I actually allowed to collect and process personal data as a researcher? How can I provide respondents with comprehensive information and clarification? What obligations do I have as a researcher and what rights do the respondents have? We will answer these questions and introduce you to the most common legal basis for collecting and processing personal data in the context of research: The declaration of consent.
