The following four permanent University Commissions exist at the University, which prepare resolutions and advise the Senate and the Rectorate (Section 17 of Bielefeld University's constitution):
The Commission for Financial and Personnel Matters (in short: Finance Commission) advises the Senate and the Rectorate on financial and personnel matters and prepares corresponding resolutions, in particular with regard to the principles of resource allocation and economic planning.
The UEKo is responsible for preparing resolutions and advising the Senate and Rectorate, in particular for tasks relating to university development (structure, information technology, planning and construction matters, international affairs).
The Commission for Research and Young Researchers advises the Senate and the Rectorate on the strategic planning and promotion of research activities at the university as well as on the qualification and career development of young researchers and prepares corresponding resolutions. It is made up of equal numbers of professors, mid-level researchers, staff in administration and service and students in order to integrate all relevant groups of the university community equally into decision-making processes.
The University Commission for Studies and Teaching is responsible for preparing resolutions and advising the Senate and the Rectorate, in particular with regard to the certification and (further) development of degree programmes.
The current dates of the commission meetings can be found here.
