Compliance staff unit

All members of Bielefeld University must comply with legal and internal university regulations in their daily activities. This may seem obvious at first, but due to increasingly complex laws and regulations, complying with the rules is a major challenge on closer inspection. Violations of the law can have serious consequences and lead to severe financial penalties or a loss of reputation for Bielefeld University.

The task of the Compliance Unit is therefore to design, implement and continuously adapt a compliance management system at Bielefeld University with the aim of preventing and detecting legal violations and avoiding liability risks.

The staff unit carries out projects in compliance risk areas on the instructions of the Chancellor.

The Compliance Unit reports directly to the Chancellor of Bielefeld University.
