Bielefeld University introduced a research information system (FIS) in April 2023. A FIS is a database with a continuously updated, comprehensive directory of the researchers and research activities of a research institution. The aim of this bundling of data is in particular to make research achievements more visible through the comprehensive, context-related presentation of research activities, as well as to provide data in accordance with the specification of the core data set for research.
In addition, researchers are to be relieved of their documentation activities and receive support in the external presentation of their scientific expertise.
A more detailed overview of the project goals, information on the structure and functioning of the FIS and the linked research portal can be found on the following pages.
