Career counselling offers postdocs the opportunity to reflect on challenges in the here and now as well as medium and long-term career plans.

Postdocs organise their academic work independently: Postdocs have often already changed universities since completing their PhD or are about to move to another university. The focus of research and publications are developed independently of supervisory relationships. Third-party funds can also be acquired independently.
